Many writers don’t even know what their first things are. This can be detrimental to being organized and successful.
To do first things first, writers must first determine their most important goals as writers. They should strive to have no more than 3 goals to work on every quarter and then stick to these goals. These goals then become the first things that a writer must work on each day.
When a writer decides to do first things first, she will be much more productive and successful as a writer. Writers should expect success and work towards that as much as possible.
Here are additional benefits to completing first things first.
1. You’ll feel organized.
2. You won’t second guess yourself.
3. You will not take on anything extra.
4. You’ll be able to focus more.
5. You’ll be able to prioritize your writing goals.
So, what are you waiting for? Sit down and determine your three main writing goals. Then you’ll be able to structure your writing times accordingly. The quicker you do this, the more successful you will be.
